How to Play Sic Bo
Sic Bo makes use of three standard dice: a standard die has six faces, each showing numbers 1 through 6. The sic bo table layout displays the different types of wagers you can make. You must post your bet on the sic bo table before the game begins. To do so, simply place your chips down within the betting area of your chosen bet.
As there are different types of wagers you can place, you have the option to make a single bet or multiple bets per roll. A game of sic bo begins when three dice are thrown at the same time to produce a roll. After a roll has been made, its outcome established, that betting round is over and bets are won or lost.
Each betting round is separate, and has nothing to do with the preceding or succeeding round. To play again, post another single or multiple bets, upon which the dice are thrown to begin another round.
Here are the different types of bets in Sic Bo:
Dice Face / One of a Kind. It is a bet that a specific number from 1 through 6 will show on any one, any two, or all three dice faces. On the sic bo table layout, this bet is shown as Dice Face 1, or 2, or 3, or 4, or 5, or 6. Payouts depend upon whether you get one, two, or three hits.
Two Faces / Duo. It is a wager that a combination of two specific numbers from 1 through 6 will appear on any two or all three dice. Dice combinations you can bet on are 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/5, 1/6, 2/3, 2/4, 2/5, 2/6, 3/4, 3/5, 3/6, 4/5, 4/6, 5/6. In other words, you can not bet on a combination of the same two numbers, or a double:1/1, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, 6/6.
Totals. It is a bet on a specific sum total of all three dice. Total values you can bet on are from 4 through 17; values of 3 and 18 are excluded. You can't miss this bet on the sic bo table layout, it is the widest betting area marked by the numbers 4 to 17. This bet offers the widest range of payouts, based on a scale of combination probabilities.
Small. It is a wager that the sum total of all three dice will fall within the "small" range, which is between 4 and 10. If the dice total is any three-of-a-kind, or all three dice displaying the same number, even if the number falls within the small range, you lose your bet. Three 1's and three 6's are losing numbers, hence, the exclusion of totals of 3 and 18.
Big. It is a wager that the sum total of all three dice will fall within the "big" range, which is between 11 and 17. If the dice total is any three-of-a-kind, or all three dice displaying the same number, even if the number falls within the big range, you lose your bet. Three 1's and three 6's are losing numbers, hence, the exclusion of totals of 3 and 18.
Triple / Three of a Kind. It is a bet that a specific number from 1 through 6 will show on all three dice. Dice combinations you can bet on are 1/1/1, 2/2/2, 3/3/3, 4/4/4, 5/5/5, 6/6/6.
Any Triple / Any Three of a Kind. It is a bet that all three dice will display the same number, regardless of what number that is. You are not betting on a certain combination but on a certain characteristic of the roll.
Pair / Two of a Kind. It is a bet that a specific number from 1 through 6 will show on any two of the three dice. Dice combinations you can bet on are 1/1, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, 5/5, 6/6.
Any Pair / Any Two of a Kind. It is a bet that any two of the three dice will display the same number, regardless of what number that is. You are not betting on a certain combination but on a certain characteristic of the roll.
